Wanda Maximoff, also known as Scarlet Witch, is the fictional character based on the Marvel comics and portrayed by Elizabeth Olsen in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). Wanda and Pietro Maximoff are fraternal twins who grew up orphaned in war-torn Sokovia. The siblings were experimented on by Hydra resulting in each of them gaining magical abilities. Pietro (aka Quicksilver) acquired super speed and Wanda’s energy manipulation and telekinesis became amplified. In ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, her first MCU appearance after the ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ post-credit scene, Wanda initially opposes the Avengers but later joins the team becoming one of their most powerful allies.
Following this film, Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch has made appearances in multiple other Marvel projects including ‘Captain America: Civil War’, ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, ‘Avengers: Endgame’ and most recently starred in the miniseries ‘WandaVision’ for which she received much critical acclaim and multiple award nominations. People are in great anticipation for what her character’s future holds continuing the story with ‘Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’.
‘I don’t need you to tell me who I am’ is one of the major Wanda Maximoff quotes to emerge from the fan-favourite miniseries ‘WandaVision’ in which Wanda has created the false reality of her dreams.
Wanda is struggling to find her place in the world after all her loss over the past few years. When the villain of the series fails to corrupt her, they resort to trying to steal Wanda’s rare but powerful form of magic dubbed “chaos magic”. In the final episode, during the height of the confrontation with her villain, to instigate Wanda’s full transformation into ‘The Scarlet Witch’ before her victory, she realises her full potential and distinctly remarks “Thanks for the lesson, but I don’t need you to tell me who I am”.
Inspired by her iconic new ‘WandaVision’ costume, framed by the reoccurring symbol of the hexagon, and filled with pearlescent enamel representing her new-found powers, this pin is the perfect gift for any and all Scarlet Witch and ‘WandaVision’ fans!
